Abhishek hurt in car crash, CM orders probe by CID

 Trinamool MP and chief minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, 29, was injured in a crash on NH 2 while on his way back to Kolkata from Behrampore on Tuesday.

 

According to police, Abhishek's convoy had travelled some 142 km, when around 4:45 pm, the pilot car ahead of the MP's vehicle collided with a stationary milk van and tow truck partially blocking the road. The driver of Abhishek's vehicle, a Scorpio, applied the brakes, but the SUV still crashed into the pilot car, rolled thrice before landing on its head in a creek between the highway and the service road.
